Integrating Mental Healthcare for Kids With Primary Care

A recent study in Pediatrics by David Kolko, Ph.D., professor in Pitt’s School of Medicine, is fueling national conversation on initiatives to better integrate pediatric mental and physical health care.
The study found that children treated for mental health disorders at their pediatricians’ offices were nearly seven times more likely to complete a program of care, with better results, than those referred to outside specialists.
